The surf/dive resort of Waidroka on the southern part of the coral coast has become my favourite weekend escape. Set at the bottom of a huge hill that meets the sea and surrounded by lush tropical jungle, this is where you come to find solitude. Swaying coconut trees and woven hammocks are dotted all over the grounds of the resort and their two pooches, Big and Pinch will entertain you for hours.

Whether you’re up for diving the fringing reef walls, paddle boarding or kayaking, surfing the local breaks or taking on the famous Frigates reef break, or just lounging around in the sun, it’s the perfect place to come and take a breath, unwind and squish the sand through your toes.

The boys setting out on their mammoth 3 hour paddle boarding adventure to The Beach House Resort.

Peace. x
