My Bikini: Byron Bay

Welcome to an awesome new collab between Rip Curl’s latest campaign, My Bikini, and The Drifter.

Rip Curl team rider and all round sweetheart, Laura Poncini made the trip down to Byron Bay from the Sunny Coast last week to hang out with a couple of our own awesome surfing locals, Charlotte Hand and Kate Newman. The girls gave Laura the locals only surfing tour complete in a big blue Kombi. The only way to see the real Byron Bay.

The girls were equipped with a range of Bikinis and neoprene from Rip Curl’s current season and we spent the day road testing them and adventuring to secret beaches that only locals know about.

While we were out in the water, a girl paddled past me and commented that she’d worn the wrong bikini that day, as every time she duck dived her triangle bikini top popped off. I looked around at Laura, Kate & Char ripping on every wave with bikini firmly in place… I wanted to give her one of the bikinis we had with us.

Rip Curl’s My Bikini range is pretty sweet. Some of the bikinis are even reversible, and I’m all about reversible… that’s 2 suits in one guys! And the neoprene! Who doesn’t want a neoprene zip up cropped tank top? Hells yeah I do! The bikinis are good shapes and cuts (no grandma panties here) and stay on when you need them to. That’s all I want to hear…
